Unmasking:

Jihadi John

OVERVIEW

I was fortunate to work on the creation of the title sequence, logo, text credits, and graphic overlays for this powerful documentary film, Unmasking Jihadi John. The film traces the unsettling transformation of Mohammed Emwazi from an ordinary civilian into one of the world’s most notorious terrorists, and the subsequent international manhunt to track him down.

The visual approach we developed played a crucial role in supporting the unfolding narrative, maintaining a careful balance between cinematic storytelling and factual documentary. Collaborating closely with director Anthony Wonke and the talented team I was part of, we crafted a design language that guided the audience through each chapter of Emwazi’s life, while preserving the gravity and sensitivity of the subject matter.

This thoughtful, cohesive visual identity helped to seamlessly bridge the gap between archival footage, interviews, and dramatic reconstructions — ensuring the story remained both compelling and respectful throughout.
