The Amateur
OVERVIEW
Working on The Amateur was an exceptional experience both creatively and personally.
I was responsible for the design and animation of six interconnected screens forming a unified narrative system. Each interface was part of a larger visual ecosystem, evolving across sequences to support the story over a defined narrative arc. The challenge was not just aesthetic coherence, but ensuring that information, motion and timing worked together to guide the audience seamlessly through the unfolding tension.
From early visual language development to final animation, the process required balancing experimentation with the precision and structure of a large-scale studio pipeline.
Collaborating with Alex Reinach and Jan Maroske at ILM was truly inspiring. From shaping the core design language to refining the final frames, the level of trust and creative exchange elevated the entire project.
